UPDATE as of 5/31:  

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly:
Q-tip's post surgical report was good and bad. Dr. Cathy identified no bladder stones upon palpation (excellent!),  kidneys looked normal (hallelujah),   .... but .... here's where I burst into tears . . . .  little, barely 10 lbs of precious Q-tip was full of puppies ... 8 to be exact. I was devastated ... and burst into tears right there in the office.  I value life, I embrace life and to have this situation was absolutely unnecessary.  Dr. Cathy pointed out that since we had no idea what dog/s might have impregnated Q-tip, there was no assurance she could even deliver them ... and in her present weakened condition, the strain of sustaining 8 pups could actually kill her .... and we all know the world does not need anymore doggies.  So, I wiped my tears, hugged Q-tip closer ... and moved on ....

The Rest of the Story:
I have found out that Q-tips former owners were indeed very irritated with her for 'peeing on the carpet' and therefore tied her out on the porch for "a couple weeks"  .... WHILE SHE WAS IN HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!    ggggggrrrrrrrrrr.............. I personally saw the leash that they used ..and that bloomin' leash left her just about 2' of maneuvering room!!  So that means she was out there ... all 10 lbs of her sweet adorable self ... ... being molested by every Rover, Benji and Dufus who got whiff of her!! I am so angry I could just SCREAM! Lord only knows who or how many fathers those puppies had ... (may their little spirits rest in peace).

I can handle the fluffs, I can handle the pee/poo of those who haven't yet had the privilege of learning proper house manners, I can handle rocking them at night when they are sick, I can handle the late nights and early mornings of doing fundraising work to stay solvent .... but I am put beyond my endurance when people are SO inconsiderate and uncaring of innocent animals or children. Please join me in a 5 second SCREAM at Ignorance and Indifference!!!!!!!!!    Ready ... 1 - 2 - 3 .... SCREAM!!!!
